“Mean Girls” the Musical Gets Ready for Its Debut

The long awaited Broadway musical version of the cult film hits the stage this April

It seems like just yesterday we were introduced to those biting “Plastics,” Gretchen, Karen, and of course Regina as the 2004 Mark Waters film “Mean Girls” hit the big screen and became an overnight cult obsession. Now thirteen years later, writer Tina Fey and composer husband Jeff Richmond are finally ready to premier their new musical adaptation on the Great White Way.

Produced by the king of “Saturday Night Live,” Lorne Michaels, “Mean Girls” the musical brings to the table an incredible production team including lyricist Nell Benjamin of “Legally Blonde” fame and “The Book of Mormon” director Casey Nicholaw.

The story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies, this incisive comedy gets to the hilarious heart of what it means to be a true friend — and a worthy nemesis. Get tickets now and be the first to see it on Broadway. “Book your seats…and watch your back!”

“Mean Girls” will open for a pre-Broadway run of shows at The National Theater in Washington, D.C. beginning October 31. Tickets for this limited five week run can be purchased here.  Previews on Broadway begin March 12, 2018 at the August Wilson Theater (public onsale begins October 3, 2017.)
